Au temps pour moi, je ne savais pas si c’était sur un laptop ou sur un desktop. Sur ce dernier ça aurait été bien plus simple de retirer le disque en question. De plus, je suis même pas sûr que ton ordinateur ait été livré avec deux disques.

Tester Bazzite est en effet une possibilité, surtout qu’avant avril dernier ce n’était pas possible ! Mais j’admets que garder Windows à côté est utile, surtout quand on débute : ça donne une porte de sortie pour les logiciels dont on n’a pas encore trouvé d’alternatives. Puis petit à petit, on apprend à s’en passer complètement.

L’idéal ce serait le guide de maintenance HP, mais j’ai bien passé 15 minutes à le chercher pour ton modèle, sans succès (j’en ai profité pour récupérer celui de mon modèle, au cas où il disparaîtrait).

Si tu installe sur un deuxième disque, tu peux également retirer celui avec Windows pour t’assurer que tu installe Bazzite sur le bon disque. Une fois fait, remet le second disque, démarre sur Bazzite et suit les instructions sous Dual Boot Post-Configuration Setup.

Si j’en crois la photo, c’est un connecteur B-key, ça accepte donc des SSD SATA comme NVMe. La question, c’est est-ce que ton ordinateur accepte du NVMe, et HP ont rendu pratiquement inaccessible les spécifications de vieux modèles sur leur site (en tout cas, c’est bien caché car je ne trouve pas)

Yep, it has for a year now, and it’s surprisingly easy to do.

The only reason I keep Windows is for Battlefield 6. Other than that, Linux for everything else and telemetry is blocked at the DNS level. (oh and I’m still running Windows 10 because 11 is a fucking nightmare)

Still on the fence about using it for work, my previous two employers let me use Linux, I’m not sure I’ll be as lucky for my next job. (and macOS ergonomics seem so alien to me, plus Liquid Glass is a shit show)

Since creating a distro is mostly about packaging software, I assume they use their distro daily to make sure software doesn’t break.

Anecdotally, I’ve seen Ubuntu and Fedora maintainers publishing screenshots where you clearly see that they use the distro they work on.
