Hehe yeah it was a fun time I think, when you had to know what you were doing and fix all your own problems basically. I think a lot of people now would have problems with setting up a modem with Hayes AT commands, if they got past setting the irq and com port dip switches right.

I had a Cleveland Freenet account, but mostly I used a local university’s mainframe once I got to college, it had several message boards.
