These comparisons are ignorant, an insecure mail server vs. Signal, the app government’s want to ban because they can’t read the traffic.
Neither a private mail server nor Signal are appropriate places for government officials to communicate. Both of them have different levels of risk, but the underlying issues are the same: leaking confidential information to unauthorized third parties and the ease in destroying data that must be accessible for accountability.
Both are issues. One could introduce leaks because of technical issues. The other one introduced leaks because of humans.
And? Not like anything is going to happen.
