    Its a bit more complicated than that since the type of society we have that promotes things like comodified sex and women as sexual objects often directly leads them to sex work through conditioning and lack of resources/other opportunities, creating this dynamic not of their own volition, but because thats we’ve taught them is required/demanded of them, and it’s not like we offer social programs to support people in poverty. At the same time this same mentality is what leads men to feel unloved and drives then to seek things like this, since men’s emotions are seen as a “weakness” isntead of something to be developed and your worth as a man is often tied to sexual “conquests”, unironically leading men to be exploited by the sex industry by their own actions. This is what is meant when they say that the patriarchy hurts men too.
