I never had the face melt. I know people that did.
What I dealt with was the growing pains. Science isn’t even convinced they exist. I grew 9 inches over the summer. I grew 2 inches over Christmas break.
I and all of my siblings growing up had crippling growing pains. When what felt like every bone and muscle in my body ached and seemingly no amount of Tylenol or ibuprofen could do anything to help, all I could do was lay down in a dark room and try not to cry too much. I don’t know how anyone could think they don’t exist. My little brother also grew something like 8 inches one summer and from what he’s said, he spent most of the summer in varying degrees of pain from it
