Canadian soldiers in WWI and WWII are documented as sometimes following a “take no prisoners” policy. It happened in Normandy after some of them were captured by SS soldiers and summarily (and brutally) executed.
Besides, it’s not like any military in the wars (and probably ever) never committed was crimes during a conflict.
