Wanted to get the male cardinal that was standing there, but he moved to the far side of the feeder. This little sparrow took his place though. The photo came out very nicely though and I liked its round shape, so here it is!

    I think the top of the head is most distinctive for me. They’re non-native so they outcompete natives on nesting sites. I would get annoyed but I realize I’m also a non-native from Europe. 🤷

      It feels crazy a bird so ubiquitous is non-native, but I suppose that’s the exact problem!

      Casting blame on the sparrow may be a case of use throwing rocks in a glass house, as most of us are technically not native. Just try to refrain from pecking bluebirds and we’ll call it good for now. 😄
