Summary

A federal judge ruled parts of Arkansas Act 372 unconstitutional, blocking provisions that imposed criminal penalties on librarians and booksellers for distributing material deemed “harmful to children.”

Signed into law in 2023 by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the act faced legal challenges from groups like the ACLU, arguing it was overly broad and could lead to censorship.

The ruling prevents enforcement of sections requiring oversight boards and criminalizing distribution of contested materials.

Sanders vowed to appeal, while library advocates hailed the decision as a victory against censorship.

I know it’s petty to criticize a name but I can’t help but thinking Huckabee is one of the dumbest rednecky sounding name every time I see her or her dad’s stupid fucking face.

“Awr shucks, I’m just a simple Huckasands and I want to take your rights away because I’m a dumb evil piece of shit waste of life”

I am at my parents for the holidays. Of course we’re watching a lot of local TV and there is a snake oil sleeping pill ad with Mike Huckabee qualifying himself to talk about pills as a 2016 presidential candidate. I hate these people.
