The Frodo bit took 17 years? Damn!
Yeah in the books he sits on it for a long while. The movies cut that out cause who has the time?
I did find it weird the extended extended cut increased the already long run time to a record breaking 17 years and 10 hours long movie.

17 years of chilling in the shire? Yes please!
Hey! It takes Gandalf a while to do his library research!
Every story has that learning moment where someone goes to a library or finds some knowledgeable character.
The parts where we watch Frodo just sleeping are honestly the best parts
I got two good watches in me
Iirc he gets the ring in 3001 and the whole thing ends in 3019, however, it is mostly because he was just hanging out amd the whole thing didn’t start until 3018:
mildly amusing that the dwarves flee Moria in the 1980s.
What a dick!
Yeah, but was it the same river?
Every seven years, all parts of river are replaced with new river parts.
River of Theseus.
Lucky thing that river had no ambition.
Lazy river
Sam had the ring.
And Tom Bombadil
Thank fuck it was fished out of that river. Who knows what foul deeds it may have committed after being corrupted for so long.
One river to rule then all.
