Sigh, I remember watching a documentary about how the Secret Service protected the UN and the heads of state visiting the UN during the early/mid 2000s, this included Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran, during a time of high tension between the west and Iran.

In the documentary, the Secret Service seemed to pride themselves on providing protection even for America’s enemies during the meetings in the UN.

That world is long gone sadly…
