I recently purchased a new pen and decided to add a loop to my notebook.

The old pen I used had efffectively a deep carry clip which I would just insert near the spine of the notebook. I actually prefer that method but since this new pen doesn’t have a deep carry clip I made this loop with some vegtan and a very small binder clip.

It’s very easy to make, the most difficult aspect is getting the actualy clip through the leather. The clip is very strong and the addition of the leather creates a very secure fit.

The only thing I don’t love is the extra weight on the end of the notebook. It makes the front panel floppy. I might end up punching a hole an inch from the spine that allows the clip to be inserted through the leather from the inside.

Edit: This is the idea with the hole punched through the front.
