I’ve never installed Wicked Whims. Translated from German by Google Translate, Turbodriver said that Wicked Whims is used 400,000 per day. That’s not 400,000 unique users per day, mind. In a Patreon post from December, Turbodriver says that the number of Wicked Whims players has been growing every year alongside The Sims 4’s main playerbase. It’s tough to dismiss Wicked Whims as a niche mod for horn dogs when you see that kind of number. 🖊️️🤖

2. 📰 Sorry, why did nobody tell me that ‘Fallout but trucking’, [Dustland Delivery], exists and is about to come to consoles after a year of 88% positive reviews on Steam? (direct link) (👍66 👎1)

Sorry, why did nobody tell me that ‘Fallout but trucking’ exists and is about to come to consoles after a year of 88% positive reviews on Steam?
This is exactly the sort of game I like to post sickos memes about, and I’m only coming to learn of it now, well after its original launch in 2024. You can focus on being a merchant, but you might also turn to banditry or more altruistic missions, building a team of adventurers for hands-on tasks. In a pre-launch devlog, the devs said they “were particularly inspired by Death Stranding and Fallout 2,” and that particular blend of inspirations doesn’t just speak to me. The game’s garnered over 1,000 Steam reviews since it hit Valve’s store in 2024, and the word from players is 88% positive. Death Stranding 2 is actually Australian Truck Simulator in disguise, and it’s because Sam Porter Bridges is not a man: he’s a truck. 🖊️️🤖

3. 📰 Skyrim scholar uses geometry to determine how walkable the RPG’s best cities are, and the results are terrible: “Worse than some car-centric suburbs in Texas” (direct link) (👍65 👎7)

Skyrim scholar uses geometry to determine how walkable the RPG’s best cities are, and the results are terrible: “Worse than some car-centric suburbs in Texas”
But, according to one Skyrim fan and geographic information systems (GIS) graduate student, Tamriel has some serious geospatial issues. The grad student, Henry, recently conducted a study they posted on Substack analyzing how walkable Skyrim’s major cities Solitude, Windhelm, Riften, Whiterun, and Markarth are. After converting each city’s map into a graph and performing statistical analysis Henry came to a conclusion: not very walkable. Other than Solitude, whose low circuity measurements make it about as efficient to stroll in as Chicago, the rest of Skyrim’s cities scored “worse than some car-centric suburbs in Texas,” Henry says. “Overall, it appears that while most of Skyrim’s cities are walkable from a connectivity standpoint, they fall short at providing direct, efficient routes between residential locations and amenities,” Henry observes. 🖊️️🤖

Digital Foundry examines Final Fantasy VII Remake on Nintendo Switch 2
Digital Foundry has been putting Final Fantasy VII Remake through its paces ahead of its release and they seem impressed with what Square Enix has achieved on the Nintendo Switch 2. The team says that the game is somewhere between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 version, sometimes closer to the PlayStation 4 version and sometimes closer to the PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2 is roughly 1080p docked and 720p in handheld and is basically locked 30fps in both modes. The loading times are faster than PlayStation 4, but not in the same ballpark as the PlayStation 5. Like this: Like Loading… 🖊️️🤖
