I subscribe to Nebula basically exclusively for Jet Lag. I’d quite like a space for memes, clips, or discussions that are not tied to specific recent episodes.
Rule #1 is well observed, and I want to respect that, especially if there is general support for it. So, the safest option appears to be to create a new community for this, linking here for the episode discussions.
However, I also want to avoid splitting communities unnecessarily. I tend to agree with the fedigrow philosophy of posting to more general communities when possible.
What do you think?
There’s only one mod and they’ve been inactive for two years. Someone should reach out to admins to get themselves made a mod. And in the meantime, I vote we ignore that rule. In fact, I’ll start.
I run a dropout community on Lemmy and welcome memes/other posts that aren’t just the latest video there. Otherwise it feels a bit bland and dead. It’s a community for all things dropout, not just to see what’s just been uploaded.
Thanks for the reply! It’s good to know that it’s working in a similar community.
I’ll give it a few more days to make sure there’s a chance for people to object, and I can always stop if it causes problems once I start doing it, but so far it’s looking like it might be a good thing to try.
As a Jetlag and Not just bikes only watcher I would also prefer this to be more open. Some discussion about older seasons and similar could be quit a nice thing.
