I like the way Voyager does it:

DeltaChat also has a very easy onboarding process: you just put your name, and that’s it. The app creates the password in the background and allows you to switch servers easily. That really helps with onboarding new joiners.
Piefed.zip could be a nice default choice. If there are others you see, feel free to suggest.


“It’s like email” should lead, because it’s not like reddit, and people have a general understanding of how email works - that it is decentralized, even if they don’t know that word.
Hmm, I never had to choose a server when signing up for any of the emails I use. If it’s not like Reddit, then maybe it shouldn’t look exactly like Reddit :D
You had to choose between Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo etc
Those email services differ in aspects like file size limits and available storage space, yet you say it doesn’t matter which server we choose. So, does it actually make a difference or not?
