    2 maybe 3 restaurants can still work, but beyond that the economies of scale demand a certain level of delegation/sacrifices on quality control that guarantee food quality drops

      I don’t know. I think there are chains that actually maintain a pretty good job. KFC is actually very well regarded in China. I think Chick-fil-A is well regarded in the US for food quality and a small chain just around 8 or 9 is actually completely handable by a regional manager type.

      I would just say it sounds more like their particular execution of the model did not work out.

        most US chains are considered good outside the US, normally because local food quality regulations are much stricter. chikfila just has good PR, they get their chicken from tyson same as everyone else
