According to the press release as quoted by Fightful, they are just acquiring Warner Bros, not Discovery. So the split plan will go forward, just with the WB half (including HBO Max) joining Netflix, while Discovery (including TBS/TNT) will not. So at the very least, AEW will still have a cable home (unless Paramount acquires Discovery or something).
Probably going along with the original plan which was to split WB and Discovery, WB gets all the content and functional stuff and Discovery gets saddled with WB’s debt, sold off and folded, except now they’ll probably find a way to transfer some of Netflix’s debts to it as part of the deal to make those disappear too.
