From what I understand, WWE has very little leverage with Netflix at this point. They’ve been severely underperforming since the move.
Netflix might do something to AEW if they’re contractually obligated to, but I don’t know if they’d be interested in otherwise going out of their way to make WWE happy.
So, does this mean the inevitable march to oligopoly could lead back to there being fewer streaming services that actually have content again?
They are apparently going to maintain HBO Max as a separate service, but plan to add some HBO content to Netflix. So not really.
Can’t wait for TKO to throw a fit and get AEW removed from Max
