What is the best way of migrating google docs documents to Synology or Proton?
Is there any other way than doing it manually?
Edit: i found solution- you can ask for google takeout. It exports in office formats
Not sure about migration tools, but as for what softwares to use instead of Google Docs:
For Google Docs alternatives, go for Cryptpad, Etherpad, or Framapad. This is assuming you want to be able to collaborate. Otherwise, Libreoffice (it has a nice advantage of being able to also run powerpoints and spreadsheets).
OnlyOffice I’m a bit cautious of, because while it’s a Latvian office, it may have possible ties to Russia. If there’s nothing privacysensitive, you could consider it, though - it looks very similar to Word and Google Docs!
I am migrating to proton. You can use Google takeout to get a copy of all of your files.
There are some docs that I’m slow to migrate because Proton’s docs aren’t as good. Like I have some Google docs with formating that proton doesn’t support.
Proton just added spreadsheets! but they still don’t have presentations.
For Synology you can use their software to sync down a copy of your Google Drive:
https://kb.synology.com/en-global/DSM/tutorial/How_to_back_up_the_data_in_my_Google_Drive_with_SynologyOnce the data is synced you can then remove the connection to the Google Drive.
„1. If you want your Google online documents to be backed up into locally accessible formats, tick Convert Google online documents to Microsoft Office or jpeg formats.”
Its not done automatically:(
All you gotta do is tick the box when you set it up.

Oo nice, thank you
