It’s been a great year for the Superbowl community! We surpassed 5000 subscribers thanks to Owl of the Year, and won the Lemmy.world Silver event (€150 prize for the wildlife clinic). Buffy Fish Owl is our first large owl to win! I’ve volunteered at the clinic, helping owls & other animals. No specific goals for next year, but excited to continue sharing. Saddleback Caterpillar (Acharia stimulea) spotted in Yucatan, Mexico. Hairs can inject venom, causing irritation to severe reactions. Photos show the actual head & eyes, plus its defensive “scary eyes” on its back. Didn’t test the venom. [images] 🖍🤖
