They are great for particular applications of use. I use the last one you mention all the time, as it is quicker for what I typically am doing and easier than tabbing through.

Mind you, as MacOS moves closer to Win11 esque feeling, I’m starting to introduce the family to more Linux devices…
Taking your files and randomising where they go is not good UX.
Having all your windows explode because you moved your mouse to the corner is not good UX.
Having a mouse be completely unusable when charging is not good UX
