Right now for me, and this may sound weird, but it is the Build A Bear strawberry scent you can get put in your plushie.

Not because I frequently went to the Build A Bear Workshop as a kid. I only recently discovered their strawberry scent as an adult. But the scent reminds me of when I was a kid and I would play with my Strawberry Shortcake toys and it had that sweet strawberry scent.

Also, vanilla is always a classic nostalgic for me as well.

But what about you? What’s your favorite nostalgic scent?

Oak because I had this massive desk to study in growing up. Also, bakeries remind me of working in my family business.

Dad did a lot of woodworking, so for me it’s the smell of being in a woodshop around a lot of sawdust. Very nostalgic and comforting.

There is a specific scent of cinnamon that reminds me of my childhood since my father uses it as an air freshener in his work office.

Warm cashews, strawberry, and buttery popcorn also known as the “Hill’s Snack Bar” smell. I always remember that smell associating with getting a new toy or picking out a birthday present.

There’s a novelty candle that tried and largely succeeded at recreating that smell, and I bought one several years ago. I still have half of it left, but it got buried in a box when I moved and is probably still there.

Stock picture, but mine looks exactly like this:

For those too young to remember Hill's or not from the area

Hill’s was a department store chain and as soon as you walked in the front door, there was a massive snack bar that would put even the fanciest movie theater to shame. They went out of business sometime in the late 90s but were a staple growing up in the late 80s/90s.

Okay, random I know, but oh my stars, that is a really nice Mason jar.

It seems like it’s getting hard to find good Mason jars like that nowadays.

(I am an arts and crafts girl, I geek out over this kinda stuff)

It is a nice and legit Mason jar (actually has the “Mason” embossed at the top).

I just dug mine out because I wanted to smell it; thankfully it was where I thought it was. After several years, it mostly just smells like strawberry slushee now but there are still hints of the original nostalgic smell.

Cheese and Onion pasty from the UK. The smell of that baked dough is amazing and brings me back to a simpler time.
