I was watching Earth X channel’s Earth X News show when they had a segment about how some higher educational school’s (from what I remember) scientist have figured-out how to replace some of the rare Earth metals that make solar panels bad for The Livable Earth. The problem is they do not say the name of the scientists, what higher educational school & location that this happened at.
So created this to ask you all, does anyone know-
The name of the scientists,
What higher educational school
&
Location?

WOW, THANK YOU, SO MUCH!!! You just cannot know how much resources I put into trying find it!
Using the ‘teen in Zimbabwe’ article, you provide me a link to, I found the exact thing (can tell by the PIC of the article matches what on the segment mentioned) I was looking for, the article you provided had a link to it- https://www.thecooldown.com/green-tech/peanut-shells-lithium-ion-batteries/.
I’m glad we were able to find what were you looking for! Definitely the right place to crowdsource a question like this. Thank you for bringing it up! It really makes sense to put those shells to good use and especially relevant for Solarpunk and this community.
Thank you,
As a struggling inventor, I cannot tell you how happy I am to find this community!
Then there was also this awesome article- ‘Repurposing of Fruit Peel Waste as a Green Reductant for Recycling of Spent Lithium-Ion Batteries’ https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.est.0c02873.
