      Cumin, Fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, bayleaf, dried red chili papers, ginger, garlic, green chili pepper, coriander and a bit of hot sauce at the end.

        I would personally leave out the cinnamon and star anise - they’re too christmas-y! - but that’s just me.

        I’ve never heard of those spices in beans before. Is it inspired by a dish they make somewhere?

        Fennel in particular is the most surprising.

          I think you’re thinking of Fennel the vegetable. I cooked with Fennel seeds.
