The punishments today are harsh and life-altering. They’re so successful as a deterrent that many young people just don’t even see the point in drinking at all, hence the reduced drinking in gen Z.
When a few beers cost as much as a 12 pack and a DUI can completely derail your life, I don’t blame them.
