Posting another “fried rice” as is again!
Shanghai Veggie Rice 上海菜饭, only salt and white pepper as seasoning. Not even scallions this time! (This is the traditional way of doing it. Look it up, I dare you)
This time, it’s even a little mushy!

It’s actually not really a “fried rice”, since it’s supposed to be steaming rice with veg + sausage.
But then people realized the baby bok choy turns yellow if you do that, hence an extra toss in the wok. It’s definitely closer to steamed rice though.
That makes sense. If I wanted fried rice and got this instead I’d be sad cause I love the texture of fried rice with my whole heart and soul, but I get not having a great way to label it short of typing out “steamed rice with veggies and sausage”, which doesn’t really sound as nice
It would make me sad if I was expecting fried rice though lol
