I think you are forgetting that in a lot of countries overwhelming majority of the population uses Whatsapp for communication and you can’t do anything about it.
I can say “hey signal or similar. Otherwise go fck yourself”.
What I can’t do anything about is that these people are also giving my data to Meta… Their phone book, etc., which is scanned and also contains my data.
I’ll just do without the contacts then. I’m not going to let work force me into it just yet, even though it’s used all the time there. I don’t give a damn if it puts me at a disadvantage. Well, more and more people are switching over these days.

I wish that is how the world worked. They are either gonna think I am a paranoid weirdo and not do it or reluctantly install it ONLY for me.
