If you primarily read it on a desktop or laptop, which I think a lot of old.reddit users do, it’s just better. Same reason I use old.lemmy: improved readability, more compact, less wasted/whitespace, less scrolling, it’s just easier to consume.
I used to hate the old reddit design, but I think I knwo why.
I ha e trouble reading when there is less whitespace and padding or what is called element separators in ui industry…I think that is what it is called.
So when a UI is all text and separation and white space I have trouble focusing or something.
