      It’s not typical in America or any capitalist society. In fact, I’ve only seen subsidized ones built to alleviate scarcity in food deserts.

        I’m from India, a neoliberal hellscape and certainly capitalist society and it has plenty of public and subsidized grocery stores, this is a very basic welfare policy not socialism.
