    You write it down to get it out of your brain. That’s one fewer variables you’re storing in memory. Who the fuck cares where you keep the note - you’ll never go back to it.

      So… you write it down to forget it. Seems effective to remove distractions. Less effective to actually remember it, if it’s actually important.

        I’ve been living with ADHD a long time. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that when I’m trying to hold on to everything, it becomes impossible to determine what’s worth holding on to. When you stop trying to remember everything, you’re able to live in the moment and it becomes clear again what’s worth writing down.
