Like what? Since you know so much about me after all, you must be able to name one thing I would support. Unlike you, who is actually defending a known pos. But nah, you know everything, right?
Of course I’m not some crazed stalker of you in particular. But as a human being who consumes books, music, TV shows, and movies, given the current large cultural rift and your deep, genuine values I’m sure your detailed research into everyone involved with all media you consume has led to you finding loads of people with awful personal beliefs who aren’t often featured in big flashy news articles.
If you’re not simply virtue signaling I’m sure it would be very simple for you to whip out a few dozen of those names to help everyone know more awful people who we should be sure to ensure we’re not financially supporting with our media consumption habits.
Also… no, dear. I never said anything good about JK Rowling. She’s a sack of shit. Loads of artists are horrible people. It’s nothing new. If you watch a thing and enjoy it and then find out one of it’s creators is a sack of shit do you instantly hate that thing you’d just been enjoying? Retroactively change your opinion on the art itself? It’s performative. That’s all it is. And it’s becoming tiresome as hell.
Yeah. I do change my opinion of the piece. Same when I find out something is ai.
If you see or read something amazing that really speaks to you then it shouldn’t matter if you find out it was created by a dog wiping it’s ass on canvas, a cat licking a keyboard, or a particularly talented rock. If anything I’d be more impressed that a fucking rock managed to create something I found so amazing.
I care about the words or images themselves. The meaning and beauty I find in them. Not where they came from. You should think on that stance a bit more. It seems awfully sad to go through life willing to instantly decide anything and everything you enjoy in the world is suddenly awful and worthless if you find out it was made by someone or something you don’t like.
I hate AI and think it should be destroyed and never attempted again. But that doesn’t mean art doesn’t have value in itself, even if I can’t stand the person or thing that created it.
