Yea, it’s definitely worth being aware of what voltages your batteries deliver. Not even 18650’s put out the same voltage as either old or new “rechargable” sizes, so it’s always worth paying attention.
Though for normies, the directly plugin-able rechargeables are pretty sweet.
OP said he bought a bunch a long time ago, most likely not lithium. I’m in the same boat, they just dont work in all devices unfortunately.
