In January, Trump threatened to use “economic force” to annex Canada.

That tracks. I currently have better regard for Canada than I do the US, and while Canada has problems like anywhere else, they’re not charitably described as “your countrymen elected a felon who already did a bad job” as president. And the healthcare system is just… Better.
There are two kinds of people that think our healthcare system in the US is great.
-
The rich who can just pay for whatever they need.
-
Those that never utilize the system at all in any form beyond maybe basic checkups.
Absolutely anyone else can tell you the entire thing is a shit show. Especially those that work within the system. There will always be some living in denial, just like there were pro-COVID nurses and doctors, but the vast majority will tell you the system is broken by design.

Considering that most states are no where near Canada and probably aren’t under any impression that their state could ever realistically join Canada, that’s quite a large amount.
Keep in mind how the US tends to split when voting. Both sides of the country tend to separate from the middle, where land votes.
I’d bet you can get 10 consecutive states from Canada on both sides through Washington/Oregon/Cali and New England down the coast a bit.
Michigan and Minnesota. With California and NY (50/50) state, GDP of Canada could be higher than remaining US.
Well I mean Alaska is already well inside Canada, why can’t the opposite happen? /s
Fine, you can have Minnesota as a peace offering.
Only if they bring Wisconsin with.
And if they’re taking Wisconsin they might as well take Illinois
We don’t want them. They’ll just bring their brand of crazy to our politics and culture.
Yes, even the “blue” states. Americans have no idea how far their concept of “centrist” is from the Canadian concept of “centrist.”
That’s why we want to join Canada. There are people who live in the US that know how far right America is (and don’t like it).
I live in MN. And I think I would align fairly well with Canadians. Much better than anyone in southern states for example.
Individuals joining is fine, that’s what the immigration process is for. What I’m opposing is the indiscriminate admission of entire populations that do not align with Cansdian values.
For example, Minnesota barely passed some weak gun control legislation recently. How ready are they for the 2nd Amendment to be just gone? How keen would they be to have King Charles as their head of state? I think a lot of the people who say they’re for joining Canada haven’t considered all of the implications.
Minnesota does seem like one of the saner places in the US, but that’s relative to the US.
They’ll just bring their brand of crazy to our politics and culture.
The sentiment is probably related to escaping that politics and culture.
Good thing you don’t speak for the population.
Get the fuck over yourself. 🤣
This gentlemen… Is top kek.
There is likely high variance per state. Secession is definitely an easier path than a vote splitting alternative to DNC to escape their zionisist first agenda, which has so far meant supporting Trump in only important vote.
Making cars/everything expensive for all Americans in the hope of more localized jobs in 5 years is a big ask for everyone not getting those jobs, or for complete failure with severe recession.
We long for the orange turd to flush
