The federal judge Republicans want to impeach for blocking deportation flights to El Salvador will handle a new lawsuit alleging Trump officials violated federal law by discussing an attack on Yemen in a Signal chat.

Serious question. Why does this lawsuit matter anyway? There are no criminal charges here, and it doesn’t look like there’s a risk of actual consequences. Let’s say this judge rules that Trump officials violated federal law.

Ok. Great. Now what? Are there even consequences for breaking this law? If so, what are they, why aren’t these officials being charged, and how are these penalties going to be enforced? If not, this is political theater and a waste of everybody’s time.

I should think the American public should be much more FURIOUS with what is happening with their country right now. If rules don’t apply, then why the fuck are we paying taxes, showing up to work, doing literally anything? Clearly this isn’t the case, so how bad does it have to get before the heat gets to these politicians who we the people voted to elect… why is there such a delay? It’s getting worse every day like a bad zit.

This is the judge that caused John Roberts to issue an extraordinary warning against impeaching judges, which Republicans have decided to not just ignore, but to challenge.

It’s not a good idea to piss off the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS that will be reviewing MANY of the MAGA overreaches, and he has already shown a willingness to defy them, but I encourage them to keep poking the bear.
