aaaaaand this is why I’ve never done 23andme. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.
The problematic thing with genetic data is that it isn’t just about your own choice. If one person gives away their information, then that also allows to draw conclusions about their relatives.
That’s how they catch some killers. I forget who, but one killler was caught by his bro doing a genetic test
Reminder that you can download and save your data locally then revoke your consent agreements and delete your data. Who knows if it will actually be deleted though.
