We need this level of coordination as consumers for SO many things! Glad to see this success! FOR DEMOCRACY!

They cannot train 100k people to work towards a common goal with minimal coordination and not expect something like this

Sony really fucked this one up.

They could have just offered some bonus for linking and most would have done it.

    It’s what’s Ubisoft does.

But this move really set back PlayStation’s entry into PC gaming.

Yeah, because this still doesn’t suddenly mean I’m raring to play Helldivers 2 again, and I’m still going to be wary of any future Sony titles on PC now.

These companies need to learn to put a number on consumer trust, because they seem to keep throwing it away first in the pursuit of immediate profit.

At a large corporation like Sony, the people making decisions about video games rarely know anything about video games

At a certain point your career is “executive” and it doesn’t matter what product you manage.

PlayStation isn’t a huge deal to Sony compared to all the other shit they do. It’s like 1/4 of revenue.

So, it’s significant, but the people calling the shots aren’t video game people, they’re “executives” who assumed gamers wouldn’t mind signing up. They don’t understand how fickle their username and how early it still was to start money/data grabbing.

They like to think they don’t need to know, then they all seem to eat their foot on a regular basis… Maybe the underlying problem itself is that people think “executive” is a separate job…

The only reason I’m not surprised is because this was basically going to kill the game. Nobody was going to play it after this change, and I don’t think that’s something Sony wanted to risk.
